Relapse
When you cure your slice, it doesn.t mean you will never slice a single shot again. Even the pros will
occasionally slice one. The key is staying in control. Everyone makes mistakes. You will occasionally slice a shot or two.
That doesn.t mean you haven't cured your slice. When you slice one, don.t get upset. Hitting bad shots is part of the game.
Stay positive and think of the positive actions you.ll take on the next shot. In particular, concentrate on your swing
keys! You must learn to manage your mistakes to be a successful golfer.
When you do slice one, don.t make a catastrophe out of it. When it happens on the course the first thing to do is
check grip, stance, alignment and swing path. Most important, remember your good swings and the positive thoughts and
feelings they produce! After the round go back and review the Seven Steps to Stop Slicing. Go through the diagnostic
checklist and each of the other steps.
Don.t give up on the things you.re working on. Hang in there and stick with it. Keep practicing the basics, the
more you do, the more grooved your swing and the less often you.ll slice.
To make sure you will be able to quickly end any relapse in the future take some time and record the statistics
of your .good swing.. Your slice is going to bother you most on your drives so concentrate on quantifying that. When things
are going well with the driver - write down the following basic setup information.
